CREDIT SYSTEM: PTBI operates on a semester system. Each class taken counts for 3 credit hours (Bachelor's through Master's). The Doctor of Theology credits are different. Each class and thesis is 10 credit hours.
CREDIT COMPLETION DATE: Students working towards their degree by correspondence are allowed to complete at their own pace. If the Student is a classroom student of PTBI, there will be classroom instruction and tests given out.
*NOTE: If a student makes below 60%, the student may retake the test. The failing grade and the passing grade will be averaged together. The final grade is determined by that average.
GRADUATION HONOURS:All credit hours, with a passing grade, are awarded quality points based on the level achieved. HonoUrs are determined by the student's cumulative grade point average earned at PTBI. The student must meet the following GPA standards to receive the honors listed below:
3.95-4.00 = “Summa Cum Laude”
3.75-3.94 = “Magna Cum Laude”
3.50-3.74 = “Cum Laude”
NOTE: Graduation honours will be noted on the official transcript. A student will receive two official transcripts with his degree.
REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION
An earned degree from PTBI requires a minimum of 120 hours of course work for any student. A transferred student must complete at least 30 credit hours to receive a degree from PTBI, unless otherwise approved by the Board of Directors of the Plain Truth Bible Institute.
If the student has never had any seminary/Bible college credits to be considered for transfer, then the student automatically begins with the Bachelors degree program.
